Hightown Housing Association

Hightown Housing Association has hired GreenSquareAccord’s Maxine Espley as its next chief executive.

Ms Espley, who has spent almost four years at 26,000-home GreenSquareAccord and has been its chief operating officer since February 2023, will take up the role at the start of April. She will replace David Bogle, who steps down after more than 30 years in charge.

Prior to her time at GreenSquareAccord, Ms Espley worked for nearly six years at Accord Housing Association, a predecessor organisation to GreenSquareAccord before the group was formed through a merger in 2021.

Beyond Housing

North East of England landlord Beyond Housing has appointed Bernicia Homes’ Caroline Wallace as chief financial officer to replace Kevin Hanlon, who left in April after nearly five years in the role.

Ms Wallace brings more than 20 years of experience in financial leadership. She previously spent three-and-a-half years as director of finance at Bernicia Homes and has previously worked for around 15 years at Gentoo in two stints, including five years as deputy director of finance.

PA Housing

PA Housing has hired Platform Housing Group’s Jessica Friend as chief financial officer.

She will take up the role on 3 March to replace Simon Hatchman, who is staying at PA Housing to move into a new role as executive director of transformation.

Ms Friend will join from Platform Housing Group, where she has been working as group corporate finance director since November 2021.

Alliance Homes

Alliance Homes, which manages more than 7,000 homes across South West England, has appointed Jon MacMahon as chief finance officer.

He brings over two decades of financial leadership experience and expertise in the property development sector. Previous roles include finance director at the PG Group and interim finance at HAB Housing UK, both of which are property developers.

Jigsaw Homes Group

Jigsaw Homes Group has named Katie Marshall as interim deputy chief executive with immediate effect.

Ms Marshall has been at the 37,500-home landlord for more than 27 years. She will take up this interim role alongside her current position as group director of development and people.

Brian Moran, the previous deputy chief executive, left the role to become group chief executive in December 2023.

ClwydAlyn

North Wales housing association ClwydAlyn has appointed two executive directors, Sandy Murray as executive director of resources and Sian Williams as executive director of people, culture and communications.

Ms Murray has worked across a variety of finance and leadership roles in the commercial and charitable sectors, including roles within housing. She is currently vice-chair of the Riverside Group and chair of its governance and remuneration committee.

Meanwhile, Ms Williams has previously served as a board member and vice-chair of North Wales Housing.

Clarion Housing Group

Michelle Reynolds will step down as chief customer officer at Clarion Housing Group after around 35 years at the landlord in its various guises.

The group said she will leave this summer to “prioritise her family and travel more” after working for Clarion and its predecessor organisations since 1989, when she joined the William Sutton Housing Trust.

HSPG

Real estate social impact investor HSPG has named Matt Pearce (left) as group finance director and David Shaw as investment director.

Mr Pearce has joined from infrastructure company Esken, where he served as commercial finance director and director of financial planning and analysis for more than three years. Meanwhile, Mr Shaw was previously director at commercial real estate investment firm AlphaReal for over two years.

North Devon Homes

North Devon Homes has appointed John Creswell as chair of its board to take over from Colin Dennis, who is stepping down to focus on his other non-executive roles.

Mr Creswell has served on the board since May 2023 and brings experience from elsewhere in the sector, having served on the board at Citizen Housing Group and currently sitting on the board of GreenSquareAccord.

Liv Housing Group

Merseyside-based housing association Livv Housing Group has hired three board members: Jonathan Westhoff, Claire Postlethwaite and Andy Gamble.

Mr Westhoff is chief executive of West Bromwich Building Society. Ms Postlethwaite is director of operational finance and deputy Section 73 officer at Greater Manchester Combined Authority.

Both have already taken up their roles, while Mr Gamble, who recently retired as executive director at Yorkshire Housing, will begin his tenure at the start of April.

Orbit

Orbit has appointed two residents, Maxwell Doku (left) and Sayo Ogundayo, as non-executive directors to its group board.

The landlord said this follows a recruitment outreach programme to ensure the customer is “at the heart of Orbit’s strategic decision-making”, as it looks to deliver on its ambition to provide “amongst the best customer experience of any housing association in the country”.

Mr Doku is finance business partner at the Nursing and Midwifery Council, a healthcare regulator, while Mr Ogundayo has cross-industry experience in technology, sales and client relationship management.

Trent and Dove Housing

Trent and Dove Housing – which manages around 6,500 homes across East Staffordshire, South Derbyshire and North West Leicestershire – has hired two board members, Colum Goodchild and Grant Mitchell.

Mr Goodchild is director of strategic advisory services at environmental consultancy Aqua Consultants and a former senior manager at National Grid and Cadent.

Mr Mitchell has over 30 years’ experience in housing, planning and regeneration, and is currently assistant director of enterprise and growth at South Staffordshire Council.
