MTVH boss Geeta Nanda takes G15 chair at ‘critical’ time
The chief executive of Metropolitan Thames Valley Housing (MTVH), Geeta Nanda, has taken over as chair of London’s G15 group at what she says is a “critical time”.

Ms Nanda, who has served as vice-chair of the 12-strong G15 group for the past two years, has replaced Network Homes’ Helen Evans in the role. The chair of the group changes on a rolling two-year basis.
Richard Hill, chief executive of One Housing, will replace Ms Nanda as vice-chair. In 2023, he will step up to be chair of the group, which represents London’s biggest housing associations.

“I am really pleased to be taking on the chair of the G15 at such a critical time with many important issues on the agenda,” said Ms Nanda.
“From making sure the communities we are part of are supported to recover from the pandemic, to continuing to deliver more homes, and addressing the building safety crisis as well as the climate emergency – there is a great deal to be getting stuck into.”
London’s largest housing associations have been hit particularly hard by issues around building safety. In January, the group warned that spending on fire safety for its members is likely to hit £3bn over the next decade.
Amid the pandemic, G15 landlords have reported mixed fortunes, with completions falling but fears around rent arrears largely being allayed and surpluses increasing.
Mr Hill added: “There are many challenges and… a key priority is supporting the recovery from the pandemic [which] is uppermost in my mind.”
Ms Nanda, who was awarded an OBE in 2013 for her services to social housing, oversaw the merger of Metropolitan and Thames Valley in 2018 after moving from chief executive of the latter to the former. The merger came about two years after a planned merger between Thames Valley and Genesis fell apart.
