Ms McKune has been promoted from her role as group deputy chief executive, replacing Tim Doyle, who stepped down last month.

She has been ForViva’s group deputy chief executive since 2015, and she was awarded an MBE for services to the community in the same year. Prior to that, she was deputy chief executive of City West Housing Trust – now ForHousing – having joined the organisation in 2008.

Ms McKune’s appointment follows that of Henry Terefenko, who became chief executive of ForHousing, ForViva’s 24,000-home social landlord, on 1 April.

Commenting on her appointment, Ms McKune said: “We believe in a better way to do business. One that gives back and does great things by focusing on positive outcomes and using profits for good.

“I am incredibly proud to take over the role and committed to our core values of passion, openness, respect and trust.

“As we grow, we will do all we can to bring an end to inequality both in the workplace and wider society.”

She added: “As a group, we have a duty to create an inclusive and supportive working environment,” she said. “This is very personal to me – as a woman I have rallied against bias and sexism in previous roles.”

The Regulator of Social Housing in May rated ForHousing G2 in an interim judgement, a notch down from ForViva’s G1 rating, following changes to the group’s legal structure through which ForViva is no longer the registered parent of ForHousing.
