One Housing has announced that it is seeking a 50:50 joint venture (JV) partner to regenerate two of its estates in Camden.
The partner organisation would jointly plan, design, fund and deliver a comprehensive regeneration of the estates over five years.
Part of Camden Goods Yard, the estates currently provide 202 homes, and following regeneration will deliver 650-700 units, including new homes for existing residents.
Full development of the estates was the preferred option following extensive resident engagement, One Housing said, and it has committed to holding a residents’ ballot, with resident engagement integral to the procurement process for the JV.
The location is designated a ‘major town centre’ in the London Plan.
Mike Johnson, group development director at One Housing, said: “This is an exciting venture and one which not only creates new replacement homes for current residents, but will also deliver new affordable homes.
“Strong and effective partnerships with our residents and the London Borough of Camden are the key to the success of this regeneration project and we look forward to receiving tenders from interested organisations.”
