A number of senior housing professionals were appointed to new roles in October 2024
The Housing Finance Corporation (THFC) has made two appointments to its senior leadership team: Ben Rick (left) as chief finance officer and Martin Fent as chief risk and operations officer.

Mr Rick is currently senior advisor to Lloyds Bank, focused on its cross-group housing strategy and increasing lending to SME providers of social and supported housing. Prior to this, he co-founded Social and Sustainable Capital, and has previously held senior roles at investment banks and hedge funds, including Bank of America and UBS.
Mr Fent is currently chief risk officer at Cynergy Bank and before this spent 15 years at NatWest Group, most recently as chief risk officer for RBS International.

Mr Ahmed joined L&Q as finance manager in 1997, then took up the role of director of treasury and investment in 2005. Since March 2008 he has served as executive group director for finance at the housing association.

Salix Homes has also appointed Martin Warhurst, who is currently chief financial officer at Habinteg Housing Association, as chair of its board. He has taken over from Jim Battle, who reached the end of his term.
Mr Warhurst has been a board member at Salix Homes since 2023, when he was appointed as chair of the audit and risk committee.
