The Homes and Communities Agency has appointed Fiona MacGregor as executive director of regulation.
Ms MacGregor will take up her role on a permanent basis with immediate effect, having being interim director since August 2015, following the departure of Matthew Bailes, now chief executive of Paradigm Housing.
Prior to that she was executive director of programmes at the agency.
Andy Rose, HCA chief executive, said: “Fiona has provided strong leadership for our regulatory function during her interim appointment.
‘She has successfully used her strong existing relations with key stakeholders to establish herself in the role. I am very pleased to be able to confirm her appointment on a permanent basis.’
Julian Ashby , chair of the HCA regulation committee, said: ‘Through a robust recruitment process, Fiona’s long-standing understanding of and passion for the sector, gave her a clear edge over some other very strong candidates.
‘I look forward to working with her on a permanent basis, protecting social housing assets and helping to maintain the right conditions for new supply.’
