Ms Carter joins from Hyde Group, where she was group director of housing and a member of the executive team with responsibility for managing 50,000 homes

She has over 30 year’s experience in a wide range of roles and organisations across the housing sector. Previously Ms Carter worked for Circle Housing, and for several Inner London and rural local authorities.

She said: Origin Housing is an organisation with huge potential. It has strong values underpinning its charitable purpose which really resonate with me, and an impressive legacy of innovatively investing in communities, in partnership with local people and a wide range of stakeholders.

‘Over the coming years, we will look to increase the number of homes we build to help tackle the housing shortage in the South East, continue to invest wisely in our existing homes and offer great value for money services for our residents and those who receive our support and care.’

Ms Carter replaces Karen Wilson, who stepped down after 12 years at the helm.
