A number of senior housing professionals have been appointed to new roles.

Asra

London and Midlands-based Asra Housing Group has appointed Simon Hatchman as executive director of resources. He joins from Acis Group where he was financial director. His 21-year housing career also includes roles at Metropolitan Housing, Cross Keys Homes, and the Housing Corporation.
Michael Rourke is also joining Asra as development director from Viridian Housing where he was construction manager.

Joseph Rowntree

Campbell Rob has been appointed chief executive of the Joseph Rowntree Foundation and the Joseph Rowntree Housing Trust. Mr Rob leaves his role as chief executive of Shelter to take up the new post in January 2017, succeeding current chief executive Julia Unwin.
Prior to joining Shelter in 2010, Mr Rob was the first director general of the office of the third sector in the Cabinet Office.

Incommunities

Bradford-based housing association Incommunities has appointed Jan Ormondroyd as its new chair. She is a former chief executive of Bristol City Council and has been interim chief executive of Rotherham council. She replaces Dave Procter. Board member Ian Greenwood is also stepping down. Jo Boaden, CEO of the Northern Housing Consortium, and Ian Cornelius, commercial director of Skipton Building Society, will also join the group board.

BPHA

Home counties-based BPHA has appointed Jill Ainscough as a non-executive director and chair of its remuneration and nominations committee.
She spent years on the board at Sport England, including a period chairing the audit committee, and is currently a board member at medical publishers the BMJ. She was previously a non-executive director at construction firm Lakehouse.

Orbit

Orbit Group has appointed Andy Hobart (pictured) and David Weaver to its board. Mr Hobart was managing director with construction firms Wates Group and Balfour Beatty WorkPlace. Mr Weaver worked in a number of executive roles in investment banking, including at Deutsche Bank and Jefferies as its European chair and chief executive.

Trafford Housing Trust

Trafford Housing Trust has made several appointments. Nigel McGurk, who has 25 years of experience across the development industry, and John Shannon, who has 10 years’ experience as regional director for Wates Group, are both joining the trust board as non-executive directors. Graeme Scott has been promoted to director of the trust’s developer arm.

Anchor Trust

Older people’s housing specialist Anchor has hired two non-executive directors.
They include dementia expert June Andrews, who has led the University of Stirling’s Dementia Services Development Centre for 10 years. Prior to that she was director of the Centre for Change and Innovation at the Scottish Executive Health Department.
They have also appointed Richard Petty, a director and head of residential advisory at property consultants JLL. Mr Petty is also chair of Dolphin Living.

Aberdeenshire council

Rob Simpson has been appointed head of housing at Aberdeenshire Council. Mr Simpson is currently communities and housing city-wide manager for Aberdeen City Council. He will take up his new role at Aberdeenshire Council on 21 November 2016.

Home Group

Home Group has hired Matt Forrest to the new role of executive director for business development. He joins Home from Sage Group where he had several senior roles in product management, business development, commercial marketing and strategy implementation. He started his career at KPMG as an accountant.

Yorkshire Housing

Yorkshire Housing has appointed Will Lifford as its new chair. He is a former partner at accountancy Grant Thornton and chairs Martin House Children’s Hospice.
Sue Hall, who recently retired as director of information systems and strategy with law firm Linklaters, has been appointed as vice chair.
Philip Severs, director of finance at Sheffield Hallam University, has also joined the board.

Housemark

Data and analytics firm Housemark has appointed Laurice Ponting as its new chief executive. Ms Ponting joins from Genesis HA, where she was executive director of communities.
She takes over from Housemark founder Ross Fraser, following his retirement after 16 years in the role.

PfH

Stephen Herriot has joined Procurement for Housing Scotland as head of operations. PfH Scotland is a national procurement service for social landlords across Scotland. He joined from engineering firm Babcock International Group. Before that, he worked at Scottish Water and Lanes Group.
