Yorkshire Housing has promoted Rob Parkes to executive director of finance and governance.
Mr Parkes joined the 20,000-home housing association in 2015, firstly as head of assurance, and then most recently head of finance, a position he has served in since May 2021.
He is a qualified accountant who, prior to his time at Yorkshire Housing, spent 10 years as a senior manager at PwC.
Mr Parkes will take up the role of executive director of finance and governance on 24 February, replacing Andrew Oldale, who worked in the position since June 2021.
Mr Parkes said: “I’m delighted to have the opportunity to step into this role. I’m passionate about the work of Yorkshire Housing to provide homes for those who need them most.
“I want us to do whatever we can to minimise the amount of people who are homeless or stuck in unsuitable temporary accommodation in our region. I know we can do this while offering quality, affordable, well-maintained and energy-efficient homes to our existing customers.
“I’m looking forward to working with our board, leadership team and partners to take Yorkshire Housing to the next level. Together we’ll continue to do all we can to maximise the positive impact we have on the communities we’re part of.”
Nick Atkin, chief executive of Yorkshire Housing, said: “Rob is a fantastic appointment. He has a deep understanding of Yorkshire Housing and the sector and will hit the ground running. I’m delighted he’ll be joining the executive team at this exciting time for us as a business.”
Yorkshire Housing has also promoted Sian Webster to executive director of growth and assets.
Ms Webster has spent the past 10 years at the housing association, most recently as director of assets and sustainability.
Yorkshire Housing said that, in her new role, Ms Webster will lead the landlord’s work to build more homes while making sure they are energy-efficient and fit for the future.
Ms Webster said: “I’m really excited to step into my new role. I’m passionate about creating quality homes whilst making sure we minimise our carbon footprint, and I’m looking forward to working with the team to continue driving this change and making a difference for our customers.”
